John has a background in banking. He has been employed by commercial banks in the United States and Europe in a variety of functions ranging from commercial lending to capital markets and investment banking. As a self-employed property developer, he initiated the Riga International Business Park project in Latvia. He has been a resident of Malta since 2009.
John was recognized at the Offshore Alert Conference in November 2015 as being the whistleblower in the largest fraud in Latvian history, involving the collapse of a Latvian bank and the ensuing cover-up organized by Eurostat and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics at Dartmouth College and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance at Cornell University.
He currently holds director and investment committee mandates in Malta. He is a member of the UK CFA Society with an Investment Management Certificate. He earned a diploma in risk management from MITC.
